It seems strange that someone once made this pensive little angel. Such cherubs should be gaily frolicking about in His heaven, not sit in heavyhearted judgment of His plan.

Then someone else once chose this particular ornament to commemorate what I presume was a loved one. Even the angels are sad that you perished, might be the message of this grave. But there is also the impression that the person buried here causes the angel to sit in anguish, instead of joyfully announcing the arrival of this soul in heaven.

However, we do not speak ill of the dead.

Which actually makes them, like angels, forever good.

This here cherub seems to convey the message that being nothing but good for all eternity might be more of a burden than we think.
