There are those who get up in the morning and put a small bowl of oil and a candle next to a lion skin rug. The skin was a gift from their masters, who said: 'Using wisdom to tame the mind, is like subduing a ferocious lion.'
They light the candle, take their position and, with their left hand, pick up their lotus.
This was a gift from their brothers, who said: 'This lotus represents your ultimate realization from the blossoming of wisdom.'
With their right hand they pick up their sword, dip it in the oil and then light it up over the candle.
The books of old say: 'The flaming sword is a symbol of the realization of transcendent wisdom, which cuts down ignorance and duality.'
Then they meditate.

There are also others who get up in the morning.
They shower, feed and clothe themselves, and perhaps their kids, take a dump, brush their teeth, possibly walk a dog, and then rush off to work in trains or cars (if applicable, via daycare or school).
These others then work all day, with a short break for lunch, and then rush back home again to cook, have diner, do the dishes, feed, bathe and put to bed kids (when present, and with possible homework done), exercise in a gym, watch some television, have a nightcap, walk the dog and go to sleep.

Take your pick and do your best, as we say in The Netherlands.
It's all you can do.
