Even though he never wrote any books, or shot his wife - accidently or otherwise - he lived the life alright. The life of his prohibited mentor, who developed the habit at age 28 or thereabout, never kicked it, and died at the age of 83 from a heart attack.

He simply had to try after reading, he had to. So it started in his teens, and that was that. How do people, how do we, get through our lives? Is living without, really so much better so much more acceptable, than with? We should probably ignore the mass hysterics surrounding the topic and simply ask his sons. But I haven't been able to get a hold of them yet. Only one of them replied to my request and emailed me this picture and a funny anecdote.

Really, all I see is a man at 64, going strong, maintaining his skin and bones look, nurturing his habit as peacefully as ever. A man who, when his third son came home with the Queens of the Stone Age album 'Rated R' and played the song 'Feel Good Hit of The Summer', laughed so long and hard the boy thought he'd gone mad. And maybe he had. Or maybe he had just met with the man. Or maybe he was just happy.
