I grow tired of myself and my creations, like Dylan sang in approximately queen Jane. I don’t know why that song comes to mind, but I remember that Dylan banks on queen Jane at some point giving up and recognizing what’s truly important: his love for her.
If that were the case, if I could just put away my camera and wait for good things to come pouring in, I would. Then again, maybe I wouldn’t. I mean, I’m still waiting for my big break, but that doesn’t mean it’s all crap. Just most of it, that’s all.
When I started out I figured I’d make one iconic photo after another, just like Elvis shat out hit records, but somewhere along the way I learned that it’s not a straight shot to the ‘Greatest photography of the 21st century’. There are obstacles and rules and people you have to know. I figure that, all in all, I’m doing pretty well living off my work. It’s just that, sometimes, I wish for a giant sinkhole to open up for me to vanish in. But that’s sometimes, most of the time I’m just dandy.
