Okay, so Paris has the Eiffel tower – you see it, you think 'Paris'. New York has the Statue of Liberty, and Rio has these stumps of stone, these rocks that are always somewhere to be found on its beach pictures. Now the funny thing: this is Rio de Janeiro, famous, amongst other things, for its beaches. But there's hardly anyone there....

So it's probably the low season for tourism. And it's probably a weekday, so most locals are working or looking for work or food, or anything that might fill the void left by the lack thereof. But if that's the case, then who are these people that are at the beach? Why do they not have a care in the world that might have located them elsewhere, in an office, a school, a hospital, a basketball court, and I'm just throwing options out there, you know.
Why?

Okay, so the vendor we all get, right?! But the others?

If you have some time on your hands, and not a beach nearby, you might try this exercise: look closely at the people in this picture, and come up with a specific reason for each one of them why he or she is there. Provide them with some iron clad alibis. And while you do that, keep a close watch on the choices your imagination makes. It's fun once you get into it. Others can always tell you a lot about you, especially when it's you who fills their minds.
