We climbed the mountains looking for God, only to find a scenic view. After that we built a cable lift to allow more people to take in the scenery. And we needed a hamburger stall, because being in the place of the gods makes people hungry. Of course we put up signs that people aren’t allowed to throw their garbage over the cliff edge, but they do so anyway. It’s simple curiosity, we want to see the Coke bottle fall hundred of yards and disappear through the canopy of leaves below. It’s actually not that spectacular, but you have to see it first to realize that.
Some people say God still lives there and that he talks to people disguised as an elderly man with a Panama hat and health sandals. He inquires about how they like the view and tells them he can see his house from there. When they ask where it is he points vaguely in one direction or another. And the people nod and they walk on and shake their heads. God orders another hamburger and licks the sauce from His fingers.
