A little fishgirl received an angel costume for her birthday. It consisted of a pink dress and a set of plastic wings she could put on her back. The wings had different colours (much like the late David Bowie's eyes – RIP mister Jones, the pioneer of plastic soul ...). One was transparent, the other could reflect light and thus take on any colour available in its immediate surroundings. The fishgirl wondered why this was so, until she decided it was more fun to just put them on and be an angel.

Little did fishgirl know, but the plastic her wings were made of, came from the house of a plastic giant who lived on an Island in the Pacific. It was in fact an island made entirely out of plastic, about the size of France, though probably larger by now since it was growing every minute of every day.

The fishgirl had heard about this island, but unrelated to her wings. In fact, only in rants of her father against something he called 'stupid humans', which was apparently another word for 'vermin' - both of which she did not understand very well. One day fishgirl decided to go look for this island and its giant. The fact that she found both, should suffice to make you realize this part of the story did not end well.

Her grief-stricken mother, who was somewhat of an artist, made an everlasting art-object out of fishgirls angel wings. An 'objet trouvé', her mother named it (fishgirl wouldn’t have had a clue) and it had been sitting on her bedside table ever since. 'Only sensible thing you can do with that trash,' the father mumbled under gills. All fishgirl ever wanted to know, was the size of a France.

Postscriptum
The object washed upon the shore after a giant trawler ended the entire fish-household. A human found it, took it to his studio and photographed it. Art made of art made of the house of a plastic giant living on a plastic Island in the Pacific. I saw the photo, remembered that Island and, even though I am human myself, for a moment there I caught myself hoping, wishing, one day that giant will get up and avenge fishgirl in the most Hollywood blockbusting disaster fashion.
