Hello, my unknown brother, why the serious face? I must say I’ve heard about you. A poet, a man of the arts, and now you want to be a philosopher. No wonder you don’t laugh. You’re probably one of those intense types, always busy figuring out what makes the world go round.
You know what Dylan said? “I’m more of a song and dance man myself”. Guy won the Nobel prize for that, among other things. But he was right, though. A little bit of song and dance’ll probably get you further than all that poking about for the bigger truth. Besides, there have always been those who’ve sought the truth, god or ecstasy in the dance. From the wu li masters to the dervishes, to all those ritual hoedowns, every dancer is a seeker, from the spiritual to the mundane.
Personally, I’m only just starting my dance through life. I’ve wasted a lot of time scowling on the sideline of the dance floor: too busy thinking about it all. I wish you better luck than that; I wish you a world full of dance floors to explore.
