Maybe paradise is this: people living their lives as if everything they did was a leisure activity. I wonder, though.
There will still need to be people to build the boats and clean the beaches after everyone’s gone home.
But, as I recall, there was an economist who predicted the ten-hour workweek or something like that: production would become so efficient, he said, that we’d only need to work a small part of our time.
Leaving the rest to pursue our personal ambitions, develop our potential or just generally enjoy our life.
I wonder what went wrong; on a yearly basis I spend more time in the office than on the beach.
Maybe I should approach my work as if it was a leisure activity or I could just make this photo my background picture.
